Our Commitment to Addressing Physical and Learning Disabilities
Central Synagogue – Beth Emeth is committed to meeting the needs of individuals with special needs. We evaluate activities to make our programs and community as accessible as possible. Our building has an elevator system that makes each floor accessible to persons who have mobility challenges. We have large print prayer books at the entrance to our sanctuary.
For students with special needs we make efforts to partner with our families to provide a Jewish education and life cycle celebrations. We welcome the opportunity to talk with you about your child and to accommodate any special needs that your child might require to become a lifelong participant in Jewish life and community. We know that our resources are limited, but we make every effort to partner with our families to create an achievable Jewish IEP. Over the years we have been able to provide individual attention, decease inclusion, and one-on-one tutoring in Hebrew and Jewish Studies to students with a variety of learning needs. We guide the children through the b’nai mitzvah process, creating an appropriate and meaningful environment that meets the needs of each individual student.
