Suzy Gelman, Tree of Life Yoga Director and Instructor
Suzy is a Registered Yoga Instructor and a member of Yoga Alliance, the International Kundalini Yoga Association. She received intensive yoga training under the guidance of Sat Jivan Singh and Sat Jivan Kaur at the Manhattan-based Kundalini Yoga East. Her approach maintains the integrity of Kundalini Yoga as taught by the Master of Kundalini Yoga, Yogi Bhajan. Already an experienced yoga student when she took her first Kundalini class, Suzy was amazed at the instant mental, physical, and spiritual benefits she achieved. Kundalini Yoga quickly became her passion and remains so today. Suzy continues to take classes and workshops, which enhance both her yoga and her teaching skills, and her twenty years experience as a certified clinical social worker have provided a deep understanding of people and the supportive and healing processes. Suzy happily resides in Rockville Centre with her husband, daughter, son, and a bevy of dogs and cats. She is delighted and honored to be teaching yoga at CSBE.
What is Kundalini Yoga?
Universal and nondenominational, Kundalini Yoga is more than just exercise. Also called the Yoga of Awareness, it is an ancient science of “angles and triangles” which has the potential to strengthen one’s body and uplift one’s spirit. It was brought to the West in 1968 by Yogi Bhajan, who taught that through the practice of Kundalini Yoga one can gain an inner vitality to counteract the adverse effects of stress in our lives.
Congregants of CSBE may attend free of charge; non-congregants may pay as you go for $15 per class.
